Villa Pisani Bolognesi Scalabrin: the history

The historic Villa Pisani Bolognesi Scalabrin stands in Vescovana, in the picturesque Paduan hinterland. It was built in the 17th century on the remains of an earlier Estense estate by Cardinal Francesco Pisani as the administrative headquarters of his farm. Here, in fact, he owned several cultivated estates, where mainly wheat and tobacco were produced.

However, the real growth period of Villa Pisani Bolognesi Scalabrin began more than three centuries later, in the middle of the 19th century. With the marriage in 1852 between Almorò III Pisani and Evelina van Millingen, the structure was transformed into a literary salon. Artists, writers and scholars from all over Europe found a safe haven here, being welcomed by Evelina herself.

Meanwhile, the latter restored the complex, which had partially fallen into a state of neglect over the decades. The countess' efforts were particularly concentrated on the garden of the mansion. This was completely redesigned, incorporating elements of oriental origin.

With the death of Almorò III in 1880 and Evelina in 1900, the Villa was sold to a distant nephew, Marquis Bentivoglio d'Aragona. Inherited in the 1960s by his grandchildren, the Conti Nani Mocenigo, it was finally sold to Mario and Mariella Bolognesi Scalabrin. The latter undertook a radical restoration of the complex, bringing back precious frescoes and opening the doors to exclusive events.

In addition to being a wedding photographer, I am a husband (lucky!) and a dad (super lucky!).

I love happy tail wags and purring in the evening twilight, which is why we also have two beautiful furries in our family, Octavia and Nova.
I love the smell of the woods where everything is so wild, where you can reconnect deeply with nature. In the same way, I love the only means that allows you to stay firmly connected to the world around you, the motorbike.

My wife Giulia and I travelled across Europe to the North Cape, where we left a piece of our hearts.
