The location of Villa Boschi is one of the structures I have most enjoyed during my experience as a wedding photographer in Verona. I have gathered all the most important information so you can learn more about the history, the structure and answer the most frequently asked questions about the villa. Enjoy your reading!
Villa Boschi: the history
The elegant Villa Boschi is located in Isola di Scala, a short distance from Verona. The structure was built based on a building dating back to the fourteenth century, a farmhouse surrounded by dense woods. Here, in fact, resided the noble family of the Counts Murari Brà, who began to reclaim the area by building rice fields. Near the Villa, the original seventeenth-century rice husk, one of the oldest in the Veneto region, is still visible. From the eighteenth century onwards, the Brà family began to work on expanding the farmhouse, further upgrading its plots of land.
In 1729, an oratory named after the Blessed Virgin of the Conception and San Zeno was built. In full Baroque style, the building was erected in the garden of the Villa. Later, in 1747, the main body of the complex was renovated. In that year, in fact, the owner Giacomo Brà stipulated a contract with Messer Angelo Brumello del Tresto, a master mason. According to this document, the farmhouse was to be transformed into a luxurious villa, based on the project drawn by the Count himself. At the time, in fact, the local nobility used to flaunt and claim their social prestige by building enormous palaces.
The construction of the imposing villa was completed in the second half of the 18th century. Soon, however, the decline of the family began and the complex became part of the landed estate of the Counts Monga. During the 19th century, ownership of the structure passed between various families, who stripped it of its heirlooms. With the recent purchase by the Dal Colle family, a slow and careful restoration of the complex finally began. Villa Boschi has now returned to its former glory thanks to their hard work, aimed at revalorising the structure.
Villa Boschi: the perfect setting for a bucolic wedding
As we have already mentioned, during the 18th century Villa Boschi was transformed into a majestic and varied complex. Having overcome 19th-century decadence, the Villa is now considered the perfect location for bucolic and fairytale weddings.
The atmosphere here is incomparable. Upon entering the romantic park, guests are immediately transported to a bygone era. You can organise your civil ceremony, banquet, and a wonderful photo shoot among the centuries-old trees and the baroque views. The courtyard will be the ideal setting for princely, cinematic shots.
You can also enjoy the shady corners under the trees or the elegant porch on mild summer days. These are romantic areas, suitable for more rustic or shabby chic celebrations. The same applies to the Barchessa, where you will find spaces with a design typical of the old farmhouses in the Verona area.
If you are looking for a more luxurious ambience, we recommend the magnificent interior salons. Here art, culture and refinement are combined to perfection. You will find a wide range of spaces in which to hold your event and impress your guests. The Salons can accommodate lavish receptions and traditional and noble weddings. Whatever your style, Villa Boschi will provide the perfect setting to make your dreams come true.
Villa Boschi: the structure of the location
The historic Villa Boschi stands amidst the fields and rice paddies of the Veronese countryside. There is also a huge area reserved for the organisation of sporting events and polo matches in this area. The structure of the Villa is surrounded by a lovely garden full of trees and centuries-old plants. Entering the park you reach the well-kept lawn, which elegantly embraces the complex's buildings. In these green areas, it is possible to celebrate bucolic summer receptions and the official civil ceremony of your wedding.
The main body of Villa Boschi, the Baroque oratory from the 18th century and the ancient Barchessa overlook the garden. The Barchessa, after careful restoration, has been transformed into a versatile environment suitable for hosting events and celebrations. It features a large central hall, with a characteristic combination of stone walls, terracotta floors and a wooden ceiling. On the other hand, the splendid aristocratic building has an elegant façade with arched porticoes branching off from it.
Villa Boschi also boasts beautiful interiors, with halls of different sizes to suit every need. You can admire splendid eighteenth-century frescoes in the halls, under which you can serve your wedding banquet. The different rooms are all interconnected and open onto the large central hall. Therefore, it is a vast, well-kept space in which you can organise your reception for up to 300 people. Villa Boschi is truly a location rich in history and wonder, able to give you great emotions. It will amaze you and your guests with its majestic views and fairytale atmosphere.
