Villa Ca' Diedo: history

The splendid Villa Ca' Diedo stands in Cusinati-Rosà, in the gentle countryside of Vicenza. It is a majestic residence dating back to the 18th century, built on an earlier building from the 16th century. The structure, also known as Villa Favaretti, originally belonged to the Venetian Diedo family.

Around 1820 the complex was bought by the botanist Alberto Parolini, great-uncle of the present owners. Over the next few decades, Parolini began restoring the Villa and designing the park that surrounds it today. John Ball, a famous Irish politician and naturalist, planted redwood trees in the park. A small chapel was also annexed to the Villa, the only religious centre for the local population until the 20th century.

During the Second World War, Villa Ca' Diedo was attacked by German troops passing through during their retreat. The soldiers fired into the building, thinking the Americans occupied it. Fortunately, no one was hit and the family's life continued to run smoothly.

Villa Ca' Diedo was thus handed down from generation to generation to the present day. In the 1980s the owners decided to dedicate the former stables to the organization of events and weddings. The Villa has thus become a worldly and locally famous venue, while remaining a private residence.

Villa Ca' Diedo: the perfect setting for a rustic wedding

The elegant Villa Ca' Diedo stands in a beautiful green oasis, surrounded by cultivated fields. It is a really suggestive place, where you can admire the romantic landscape of the Veneto countryside. For this reason, organizing your wedding in Villa Ca' Diedo means celebrating a bucolic and fairy-tale wedding.

Passing through the property's gates, visitors are transported to a magical, timeless place. Strolling under the shady branches of the centuries-old trees, you will feel as if you are living in a sweet dream. Next to the romantic man-made pond, you can create the perfect photoshoot.

The large, well-tended garden embraces the building and offers poetic and enchanting views. It will be the perfect setting for your boho-chic outdoor receptions. Taking advantage of the gentle summer evenings, you can enjoy the magical and relaxed atmosphere typical of the Veneto countryside.

If you prefer an indoor setting that is no less impressive, we absolutely recommend one of the rooms at Villa Ca' Diedo. Located in the former stables of the building, these rooms have a typical ceiling with exposed beams and terracotta floors. They will be the ideal location for banquets in a more traditional, rustic style, where you can admire some of the ancient relics on display.

Villa Ca' Diedo is truly a gem set in the sweet countryside of Vicenza, which will surprise you and your guests. We are sure it will leave a sweet memory of your most beautiful day in your hearts forever.

Villa Ca' Diedo: the structure of the location

Villa Ca' Diedo, as we have seen, is one of the most elegant and characteristic wedding locations in the heart of the Veneto region. In perfect neoclassical style typical of the 18th century, the complex is a real jewel in the architectural landscape of the area.

Passing through the walls decorated with elegant statues, visitors are immersed in the stunning centuries-old park. This is a green area of over 3 hectares, designed in the 19th century by the owner of the Villa himself. It contains rare tree varieties, flowering bushes, a hillock and an artificial lake.

A walk along the avenues of the park leads to the main building of Villa Ca' Diedo. This is an imposing building, rising on three floors and distinguished by a fine pediment and an elegant stone balustrade. On entering the complex, it is impossible not to be enchanted by the beauty of the numerous paintings, stuccoes and period elements. Although parts of the Villa have been modernized in recent years, the large passage halls have retained all their old-world charm.

The building's old stables are next to the main building, now converted into an event space. These have the typical wooden ceiling of the old Venetian residences and contain some precious relics, such as an 18th-century carriage. There is also an Italian-style garden at the rear of the building, adorned with a stone basin. This is used for summer weddings and overlooks the fields that surround the property.

Villa Ca' Diedo is also famous for its ancient three-nave chapel located right next to the main entrance. Inside is a beautiful wooden statue of the Madonna adorned with silk robes. Villa Ca' Diedo will certainly amaze you and your guests thanks to the variety of environments and the great historical tradition.
